The Vietnam Forest Certification Scheme (VFCS) is Vietnam’s national forest certification system and was first endorsed by PEFC in October 2020.
Under PEFC requirements, PEFC-endorsed national and regional forest certification systems are reviewed at least every five years to ensure that they continue to meet international requirements and reflect the latest developments in sustainable forest management.
Accordingly, VFCS has conducted a comprehensive review and revision of the system, covering scheme governance, standard-setting procedures, and the standards and procedures applied within VFCS, including sustainable forest management certification, group forest management, chain of custody, and complaints and dispute resolution. These revisions aim to improve the effectiveness of the system and ensure that it continues to meet national requirements and market expectations.
To present the key revisions and updates to VFCS and support stakeholder participation in the assessment process, PEFC and VFCC/PEFC Vietnam will jointly host an online webinar on 10 August 2026. The webinar will:
- Present the key revisions and updates to VFCS;
- Explain the PEFC assessment and endorsement process;
- Outline how stakeholders can participate in the public consultation, which runs from 10 August to 9 October 2026.
Organizations and individuals interested in forest certification are cordially invited to register for the webinar.
Time: 10:00 CEST (15:00 Vietnam time), 10 August 2026
